Prep & Aftercare
-
Exfoliate with an oil-free scrub or mitt — focus on elbows, knees, ankles + underarms.
Shave or wax 24+ hours before. Skip razors with moisture strips.
Moisturize the night before, but skip lotion on tan day.
No bar soaps, or brands like Dove or Olay — they leave residue.
Get beauty services (waxing, nails, facials, massage) at least a day before.
No showering within 4 hours of your appointment. If you need to shower, rinse with cool water only.
Arrive with nothing on your skin – no lotion, deodorant, makeup, perfume, or oils.
Wear dark, loose clothes. Avoid tight fabrics that rub.
Prep for the weather – if its raining, bring an umbrella + closed toe shoes.
-
Be sure to wait the full processing time before rinsing — your artist will let you know exactly when! This timing is key to getting the best, most even tan.
If you are sleeping in your tan, wear pants + long sleeves.
Stay dry — no sweating, dishes, or washing hands too much.
Avoid using any products until after your initial rinse.
Rinse with water only (no soap, shaving or hair washing!). Use hands to gently guide off the cosmetic bronzer.
Rinse until the water runs clear and check for any streaking from the bronzer – if you see any, hop back in and rinse again.
Pat dry your skin dry after showering, don’t rub.
-
Moisturize 2x daily, 24 hours after your initial rinse with tan-safe lotion - no mineral oil or heavy fragrance, check the ingredients! We recommend something with shea or cocoa butter.
Use DHA-infused tan extender to maintain your glow.
Avoidpools, hot tubs, long hot showers, loofahs, bar soaps, and aerosol sunscreens.
If you’re swimming, rinse after being in salt water or chlorine.
Wait 24 hours before working out — then wear loose clothes + blot sweat if possible!
Stay hydrated — your tan needs water just as much as you do!
Wear sunscreen! A spray tan does not protect you from the sun – we recommend an oil-free sunscreen like Bask or Sun Bum.
